Help Desk: Can't Import JPG Images

When downloading images from the web server your get the following error message:

Error 2114: DVD Register doesn't support the format of the file 'C:\Program Files\Laser Disc Register\Release xxx\..\Images\xxxx-A.jpg.' so it can't load the picture.

You will need to close the DVD Register to make these changes.

You should first do a search on your hard drive to see if you have the jpegim32.flt graphic filter. If you don't have the graphic filters you can download them here:

JPEG Graphics Filter: Jpegim32.flt

You need to make sure you have both filters in the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\grphflt
C:\Windows\MsApps\Grphflt

You may already have the JPEG Filter on your system, but only in one location. If that is the case, Copy and Paste it to the other location. Once you have the JPEG Filter in both locations, startup the DVD Register and see if you can load the JPG images.

If the filters are in the correct folders, but you still can't load the JPG images, you'll need to make some changes to the Registry. You can  download the REG files listed below and Merge them with your Registry. Close the DVD Register and continue with the following steps.

Back up the Registry key. Go to Start > Run > type REGEDIT, and click OK. In the Registry Editor click on the + signs beside the keys (folders) until you get to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters.

If you click the + sign beside Graphics Filters you'll see Import below it. Click the + sign beside the Import key. You'll want to export (backup) any keys named  JPEG. To do this, click on the key to highlight it, then go up to the top left of the Registry Editor window where it says "Registry", and choose "Export Registry File". Give it a name like JPEG_export.reg. For "Export range" you should see the dot beside "Selected branch" and the path to the correct key. Save it to My Documents or whichever folder you choose so that you can find it easily if you need it later.

Download this REG file to be able to load JPG files.. It will add a key to the Registry at this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters\Import\JPEG

Once downloaded, to use the REG file, right-click on it and choose Merge. Open the DVD Register and see if you can load the JPG images.

If you have problems with any of the Registry entries that you've added, delete them, and restore your exported (backed-up) versions.
