Help Desk: Must Unzip Before Install

When opening the setup.vbs file included in the Install pack the following error occurs

"Windows Script Host Error: The specificed Module could not be found"

The screen below shows a typical example of this error:

The DVD Register install pack is downloaded in a Zip file format also known as a zipped archive. A zipped archive is a compressed format that can wrap several individual files into a single "so called" archive file.It is necessary to unzip the files in the archive for the setup to work correctly. Windows does not like to run a Visual Basic Script from inside of a zipped archive.

In Windows XP and later, Windows makes a zipped archive look like a file folder. This improvement can be confusing. In some ways the zip archive looks like a file folder but in other ways it does not act like a file folder.

You can download a reliable zip/unzip utility at www.winzip.com

After you have downloaded an install pack you should open with Winzip or alternative utility. The screen below shows the install pack opended with Winzip.

From this point you would use the "Extract" tool bar button to unzip the files from the archive. You will be prompted for the unzippassword. The unzip password will be provided in your download instrcutions. Your server login and passwrod is unique to you and cannot be used as the unzip password. Typically all install packs of a given release level use the same unzip password. Email youself the current unzip password.

Once the files are unpacked, open the setup.vbs file and teh setup should run without the error message.
