Help Desk: How do I correct the live update #429 error?

  1. The cause of this issue is a missing library file named scrrun.dll. This library is normally located in C:\Windows\System and  is part of the operating system called Windows Script Host.
  2. You need to check if this library is missing from your PC. If you do not have this library on your PC, then you can download scrrun.dll and and copy it to the C:\Windows\System folder on your PC.
  3. You will need to download a tool provided by Microsoft to manually register the DLL. Registration Tool: REGSVR32.EXE You can also read about how to use the tool: Text Instructions for REGSVR32.EXE You should put the regsvr32.exe in the root folder of your C Drive.
  4. Paste the following commands in Start>Run:  Regsvr32.exe "C:\Windows\System\scrrun.dll" Then click the OK button to run the command. The command should indicate that it successfully registered the dll file.
  5. Rerun Live Update.
